INCHARA

This home is designed for a family of eight in the remote village of Uppur in the Udupi district of Karnataka. The layout revolves around the concept of a central courtyard, flanked by verandas supported by a traditional sloping roof. Incorporating elements of traditional Karnataka architecture, the house features an extended plinth towards the exterior and prioritizes gathering spaces. The living area seamlessly blends into the courtyard on one side, while on the other, it features a veranda that overlooks the front garden, creating a connection between the public and semi-public spaces of the house.
